Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study is to evaluate and analysis cognitive dysfunction of stroke patients.

Methods: 40 elderly stroke patients were participated voluntarily and were given same basic rehabilitation treatment. Cognition scale for older adults(CSOA) was conducted to measure cognitive function of stroke patients. The single sample t-test were used to compared stroke group and normal group in CSOA score. Following are the results of the present study.

Results: First, elderly stroke patients was generally lower in cognitive function compared to normal elderly people, and particularly lower in the executive function than other basic cognitive functions. Second, CSOA summary score, except for attention function index showed a high correlation between MMSE-K1 raw score.

Conclusion: The decline of the executive function is one of main cognitive symptoms in stroke. Cognitive rehabilitation could be suggested for cognitive dysfunction in the elderly with stroke. Specific cognitive rehabilitation with basic rehabilitation treatment would have better result in cognitive dysfunction of elderly stroke patients than only basic rehabilitation.
